There are two common production processes for common acrylic, namely casting and rolling. Generally, the material of CO2 laser engraving machine will be cast acrylic. Because the frosting effect produced by the cast acrylic after the laser engraving machine is in sharp contrast with the texture of the original transparent material. Calendered acrylic is still transparent after laser engraving machine processing, and will not produce too much contrast, but the melting point of calendered acrylic is relatively low, and the cutting effect will be much better. The cut edges are also relatively smooth and transparent. So in laser engraving, cast acrylic will have some advantages, while in laser cutting, calendering will be better.
